Position Description: Do you have a favorite hobby that brings you joy and relaxation? Help us teach women staying at Safe Haven Shelter enjoyable new skills and activities.
Responsibilities: Sharing your talents and skills with arts and crafts with women in a group setting.
Qualifications: Ability to demonstrate and assist others in learning a new skill. Willingness to commit to a scheduled activity time of your choice.
Training and Preparation: Initial and on-going training on volunteer policy and procedure as well as domestic violence issues is provided on a regular basis.
Benefits: Volunteers at Safe Haven Shelter have the opportunity to learn about domestic violence, help women and children in domestic violence situations, develop valuable work and life skills and feel good about giving of their time and talents to help others. This position give you the opportunity to share your love of a particular art or craft with others who are in need of positive activities in their life.
Evaluation: Volunteer Coordinators will work closely with you to answer questions, direct the work and provide feedback as necessary. |
