Description: |
If you have a passion for reading to children, and enhancing their literary skills, this is a great group for you.
Join with like minded adults to meet at local elementary schools and read to young children on a monthly basis. This interaction enhances their learning opportunities, and for many children also provides the only interaction with people who are in the "grandparent" age category.

Roles/Responsibilities: Liaising with the public Encouraging participation Mentoring
Benefits: Opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills Opportunity to give back to the community
Time commitments: The group decides on timing of school visits, but typically at least a couple of hours per month is required.
Location: Based out of Dogwood Pavilion 624 Poirier Street Coquitlam, BC, V3J 6B1
Visiting local elementary schools
Working conditions: This group meets indoors.
Training: All volunteers must attend an orientation session covering the roles, responsibilities and expectations of volunteering with the City of Coquitlam.
