Description: |
Co-Run Directors are local Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation representatives in the community who provide the motivational and organizational leadership for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure to their local committee. Each Run site requires two Co-Run Directors to manage the organization and fundraising of the event in direct coordination with Regional Foundation staff.
Co-Run Directors work collaboratively with the regional offices of the Foundation to ensure that the systems, national procedures, and standards for the Run are implemented, and overall goals of the event are met. In staffed sites, the assigned staff person(s) will work closely with the Co-Run Directors to ensure that their respective roles are clearly defined.
The efforts of the Co-Run Directors will empower local Run committee members to increase involvement of volunteers, donors and participants to support the largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, and education and awareness programs. Overseeing the Local Run Committee Co-Run Directors work with a volunteer Run Committee to oversee areas of responsibility such as, but not limited to: Communications, promotions, site, route, stewardship, volunteers, Run Day program, registration, teams, sponsorship, and community outreach. Although each Co-Run Director has overall accountability to the Run, each Run Director will focus their attention to one of two streams: Logistics and Fundraising. Both streams are of equal importance to the success of the Run and must work in tandem with one another.
These streams allow for distinction in responsibility and accountability, while also allowing for acknowledgement of the different skill sets required in the makeup of Co-Run Directors and committee members.
The Co-Run Director, Logistics will focus their attention on the following committee members: Run Day Program, Route, Site and Volunteer Coordinator and shared responsibility to the Registration Coordinator.
The Co- Run Director, Fundraising will focus their attention on the following committee members: Team, Sponsorship, Stewardship, Community Outreach, and Communications & Promotions Coordinator and shared responsibility to the Registration Coordinator.
